It is interesting how the word negro and sexist jokes have become social
markers that tell you that in this company you can express yourself
freely.

I'm experienced it several times in europe. Someone might let a small
"negro" slip, including the quotation marks, everyone looks around to see
if any social justice garbage ensues, no one reacts, someone else tries a
little sexist joke, everyone laughs, and then open and honest conversation
starts.

Negro is the new password for forums where you can freely speak your mind.

I thought I was seeing things when I came across this news item:

https://metro.co.uk/2024/07/25/sainsburys-apologises-trousers-advertised-using-racist-slur-21299492/

‘grey reinforced knee grow hem’ trousers. Not acceptable.
